Creating with Nature: Lee Beavington’s Artistic Vision and Family Projects
Recently, Lee escaped into the aura of the celebrity limelight. He created one of several videos accepted by Peter Gabriel for his 2023 released “i/o” album. Lee’s video was one of the headlined title songs “i/o” which stands for inside/out. It was a “pinch-me so I know I’m awake” moments. Lee has been a fan since he was 9 years old. The video titled as “I Run Like Water” aptly aligns itself with the worldview of the interconnection of life. It is “a true collaboration of human, nature, and AI—or human and artificial nature. This video often blurs the line between the natural and artificial.” says Beavington in the YouTube notes.
In his personal life, he loves creating with his family including his two children. He often attributes his wife as an inspiration for many of his projects. Some of these projects involve photography, videography and writing. He has produced many literary works alongside his photography being featured in four of LonePine’s field guidebooks. Living on Mayne Island, BC assists in his alignment with the natural world and Indigenous forms of teaching.
