Where sustainable fashion, music, and performance come together

Brianna Klassen (Mend) became familiar to me at an art gathering at the Beaumont Studios in 2025. She was there promoting her couture pieces alongside her good friend, Danielle Diamond. Her pieces were truly eclectic; they combined techno-based prints interspersed with repurposed materials.
Klassen is a multidisciplinary artist who delves into music, fashion design, and performance. She recently opened a monthly public meetup with other like-minded people around the Lower Mainland. When I ran into her at the Slow Fashion Show and addendum presentation in March, she discussed a small morsel of when and why she was inspired to create her pieces. So, I asked her if she would like to talk to SeeChangemakers briefly about her story.

Part II – Brianna Klassen; Fashion Influences and the Future
During our discussion in Part II of the interview, Klassen discusses how her long-time childhood best friend, Cyd Eva, has been a pivotal figure in her life.
Klassen was a self-taught designer, so many of her influences have been through connections and self-made opportunities. Travelling abroad to India was a large part of her learning process. Being immersed in the culture and gathering opportunities played a huge role in the beginnings of her education. In the interview, we discuss this further. Also, in this segment, you will hear about her musical influences and her latest musical release.
SeeChangemakers interview with Cyd Eva of Pattern Nation outlines some of Brianna Klassen’s creations.
